Botox

    FAQ

    What does Botox treat?

Botox is a very effective treatment for lines that come about upon movement especially in the upper half of the face. It can still work for permanent lines but is less effective for this. For lines in the bottom half of the face, other treatments including dermal fillers, radiofrequency and 1 stitch facelift are generally more effective.

What will I look and feel like after Botox?

80% of patients opt for a general freshening treatment as they do not want anyone to be able to tell they’ve had treatments. They will still have some movement but have a good improvement in wrinkles.  20% of clients opt for the “frozen look” and will not have much movement. Your highly experienced Doctor will advise and guide you and tailor your treatment to your specific needs.

How long does Botox take to work?

The onset of results varies between individuals but many clients tend to notice a difference within the first few days. Full results are generally seen at 2 weeks which is why our treatment reviews are conducted at this time.

    How long does Botox last?

This varies from individual to individual but generally Botox results last around 3-6 months with regular repeated treatments leading to longer lasting results.

    How much does Botox cost?

For wrinkles, Botox is charged by area treated with the 3 commonest areas including the forehead, frown lines and round the sides of the eyes. Prices start from £68 for the first area treated and £65 per additional area treated. For full pricing please see our aesthetics pricelist.

    Are Botox treatments painful?

Botox treatments should not be painful. Although needles are used, at Westerwood we invest in the thinnest needles manufactured to ensure minimal discomfort. Unlike other clinics we also take 3 additional specific measures leading to a pain free treatment.

    Is there a review?

A 2 week review appointment is booked on the day of treatment and is included in the price.

Who carries out the Botox treatments?

We only have highly experienced locally trained aesthetic Doctors who work at this full time. You will not be treated by nurses or dentists who carry out aesthetic work part time. This means you can rest assured you are in safe hands.

How long does the actual treatment take?

Botox treatments will take less than a minute. The consultation is the part that takes longer and a one hour appointment will be set aside for new clients.

What will I look like immediately after having Botox treatment?

There may be some little lumps (similar to a insect bite) at the sites of injection which last around 20minutes. Once these subside there is no sign that you have had any treatments. This is why many clients come on their lunch hour for treatments.

    What is Botox ?

Botox is the most popular antiaging treatment used to smooth lines in the upper half of the face.  It is a chemical that acts on the muscles to reduce movement and therefore smoothing out wrinkles and stopping them getting worse. Botox (which stands for botulinum toxin) is the most widely known brand with others also available. Although treatments are offered by many clinics, we take pride and special measures to ensuring that our treatments are painless and our results are tailored to the client. Our initial appointments are one hour long ensuring we offer a tailored service and best Botox treatment in Glasgow.

    Botox can be used for many other conditions apart from wrinkles such as;

    • Migraine/ Headaches
    • Smokers lines
    • Neckbands
    • Excessive underarm sweating
