Crowns

Crowns

A crown sometimes referred to as a ‘cap’ is placed onto the remaining part of you’re prepared natural tooth. It is the best option when a large area of your tooth is lost by decay or a large filling is in the tooth and a high aesthetic result is desired. It can be placed over broken, largely filled, decayed or root canal treated teeth.

There are various types of crowns and our Dentist will run through the options with you. Your options include;

All ceramic- the strongest and most tooth like, they have no metal component.

Metal ceramic- these have porcelain over metal and provide reasonable aesthetics and strength.

All metal- these can be in Gold or stainless steel and are of high strength but reduced aesthetics.

Once again you can be rest assured at Westerwood we only use our award winning lab for your crown.
