Our Charity Work at Westerwood
1) Saturday hot meals with Glasgow University Homeless Society
Every Saturday evening, our team prepares hot, home-cooked food and distributes it to anyone in need, in partnership with the Glasgow University Homeless Society.
2) Sunday family food packs
Each Sunday morning we pack a one-week supply of essential groceries for families—typically chicken, rice, potatoes, chickpeas, fruit, vegetables, biscuits, teabags and sugar. We usually prepare enough to support around 150 families each week.
3) Mobility Aids Recycling with Wheels to Heal
We support Wheels to Heal—a volunteer-led, humanitarian and environmental project that rescues unwanted mobility aids in the UK and ships them to people who would otherwise go without. Since its inception, Wheels to Heal has recycled over 24,000 life-transforming aids, sending them across countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ghana, Gambia, Iraq, Lebanon, Malawi, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Uganda and Yemen.

How you can help
- Donate mobility aids: If you have usable equipment to pass on, Wheels to Heal offers drop-off and uplift options. Learn more.
- Spread the word: Share our posts so retired equipment finds a second life.
- Book with us: Every appointment helps fund these projects and extends our impact in Glasgow and beyond.
Thank you for helping us feed local families, support those experiencing homelessness, and give the gift of mobility worldwide.
