FAQ’s
What does Anti-Wrinkle Injections treat?
A Anti-Wrinkle Injection is a very effective treatment for lines that appear on movement especially in the upper half of the face. It can still work for permanent lines (at rest) but is less effective for this. For lines in the bottom half of the face, other treatments including dermal fillers, radiofrequency and 1 stitch facelift are generally more effective.
Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections painful?
Although treatments are offered by many clinics, we take pride and special measures to ensuring that our Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatments are painless, and our results are tailored to the client. Whilst most clinics use insulin needles, we use even smaller needles to ensure a comfortable experience. Unlike other clinics we also use more than one needle during the course of your treatment ensuring it stays sharp and therefore pain free. “Is that it?” is the typical response we receive on completion of the treatment which typically takes less than 60 seconds to complete. To date, we have not had anyone not book for a second treatment due to pain.
What else are Anti-Wrinkle Injections used for?
Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used for many other conditions apart from wrinkles such as;
Migraine/ Headaches
Smokers lines
Neckbands
Excessive underarm sweating
Jawline reduction (masseter muscle)
Teeth grinding
Who carries out the Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatments?
We only have highly experienced locally trained medical staff who work at this full time. This means you can rest assured you are in safe hands.
How long does the actual treatment take?
The treatments will take less than a minute. The consultation is the part that takes longer and a 30 minute appointment will be set aside for new clients.
What will I look and feel like after a Anti-Wrinkle Injection?
Immediately after a Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatment there may be some redness and lumps and bumps – similar to an insect bite which completely resolves in around 20 minutes. Once these subside there is no sign that you have had any treatments. This is why many clients come on their lunch hour for treatments.
When the Anti-Wrinkle treatment has kicked in, patients who opt for a standard dose, look fresher and less tired. They will still have some movement but have a good improvement in wrinkles. Some clients opt for the “frozen look” and will have very little movement. Your highly experienced Doctor will advise and guide you and tailor your treatment to your specific needs.
How long does a Anti-Wrinkle treatment take to work?
The onset of results varies between individuals but many clients tend to notice a difference within the first few days. Full results are generally seen at 2 weeks which is why our treatment reviews are conducted at this time.
How long does Anti-Wrinkle treatment last?
This varies from individual to individual but generally Anti-Wrinkle Injection lasts around 3-6 months before going back to baseline. The results tend to wear off gradually and don’t disappear overnight. You can expect to receive longer lasting results with an increased dose (“frozen look”), and/or with regular repeated treatments.
How much does a Anti-Wrinkle treatment cost?
For the treatment of wrinkles, it is charged by area treated. The 3 commonest areas include the forehead, frown lines and round the sides of the eyes. Prices start from £120 for the first area treated with discounted rates for subsequent areas. For full pricing please see our aesthetics price list.
Can I take an allergic reaction to the Anti-Wrinkle Injection?
We are probably Scotland’s busiest clinic and have never came across this. In fact we have never heard of anyone having an allergy to any of the main Anti-Wrinkle treatment brands.
We do have Doctors on site and the equipment necessary to start to counteract any allergies.
