Botox in Edinburgh

What is Botox?

The most commonly used anti-aging treatment for smoothing out lines and wrinkles in the upper portion of the face is Botox. This chemical works by acting on the muscles to reduce movement, resulting in a smoother appearance and preventing the wrinkles from becoming more pronounced. Botox is a well-known brand that is made up of botulinum toxin, and there are other brands such as Azzalure and Bocoture that are also accessible.

FAQ’s

What does Botox treat?

Botox is a highly effective treatment for lines that appear when the face is in motion, particularly in the upper half. However, this treatment may not be as effective for permanent lines that are present when the face is at rest. For lines in the lower half of the face, alternative treatments such as dermal fillers, radiofrequency, and the 1 stitch facelift are usually more effective.

Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections painful?

We take great pride in our Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatments and go to great lengths to ensure that our clients experience no discomfort during the procedure. While many clinics use insulin needles, we go a step further and use even smaller needles to provide a more comfortable experience. Additionally, unlike other clinics, we use multiple needles throughout the course of the treatment to ensure that they remain sharp and pain-free. Our clients are often surprised at how quick and painless the treatment is, which typically takes less than a minute to complete. To date, none of our clients have declined to book a second treatment due to pain.

What else is Botox used for?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used for many other conditions apart from wrinkles such as;

Migraine/ Headaches

Smokers lines

Neckbands

Excessive underarm sweating

Jawline reduction (masseter muscle)

Teeth grinding

Who carries out the Botox treatments?

We only have highly experienced locally trained medical staff who work at this full time. This means you can rest assured you are in safe hands.

How long does the actual treatment take?

The treatments will take less than a minute. The consultation is the part that takes longer and a 30 minute appointment will be set aside for new clients.

What will I look and feel like after a Anti-Wrinkle Injection?

fter an Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatment, it is common to experience some temporary redness and swelling, which resembles an insect bite. However, this typically subsides within 20 minutes, and there will be no visible signs that you have had any treatment done. This is why many of our clients choose to schedule treatments during their lunch breaks.

Once the Anti-Wrinkle treatment takes effect, patients who opt for the standard dose can expect to appear refreshed and less fatigued. While some natural movement is still possible, there is a noticeable improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. For those who prefer a more “frozen” look, very little movement will be visible. Our highly experienced doctors will advise and guide you, tailoring the treatment to your specific needs.

How long does a Anti-Wrinkle treatment take to work?

The onset of results varies between individuals but many clients tend to notice a difference within the first few days. Full results are generally seen at 2 weeks which is why our treatment reviews are conducted at this time.

How long does Botox last?

This varies from individual to individual but generally Anti-Wrinkle Injection lasts around 3-6 months before going back to baseline. The results tend to wear off gradually and don’t disappear overnight.  You can expect to receive longer lasting results with an increased dose (“frozen look”), and/or with regular repeated treatments.

How much does a Anti-Wrinkle treatment cost?

For the treatment of wrinkles, it is charged by area treated. The 3 commonest areas include the forehead, frown lines and round the sides of the eyes. Prices start from £150 for the first area treated with discounted rates for subsequent areas. For full pricing please see our aesthetics price list.
